Yoga

I have been a yoga practitioner for thirty years and teaching yoga since 2002. When I first discovered yoga. I loved the way it made me feel… peaceful and serene. That’s what ‘hooked’ me. Since then I have kept a personal yoga practise. It was a challenge to fit it in with pottery making (see below) and parenting our 3 children.
I am a senior teacher at the Salt Spring Centre of Yoga where I help to teach future yoga teachers. I teach at three studios on Salt Spring Island as well as teaching 5 retreats a year. I received my training in Hatha and Classical Ashtanga Yoga at The Salt Spring Centre of Yoga. I am trained in all aspects of yoga philosophy, science and spirituality under the personal guidance of Baba Hari Dass.

My teaching style includes sustained poses as well as postures that are connected together in a mindful and fluid progression with attention to alignment and breath. I modify poses for individual needs. At my retreats I teach pranayama (breathwork) and meditation and asana (poses).

To class I bring compassion and my deep love of yoga.
The benefits of yoga are immediate.
We develop our yoga practise to last us the rest of our lives.

Pottery

After attending Art College (1973-1978), I, and my potter husband (Peter), have been making our living from pottery making. (That’s alot of pots !) We sell locally and at craft shows across Canada. We now have a link to our ‘Treeline Pottery’ site. www.treelinepottery.com

Salt Spring Island

If you you have ever heard of Salt Spring Island you have probably heard that it is a beautiful place, with many unique and interesting people and a wonderful sense of community. Well, this is all true and I feel lucky to be able to call this my home now for almost 20 years.
